Climate Justice Working Group

OxCAN's Climate Justice Working Group aims to consolidate and expand OxCAN's capacity to engage with the socio-political dimensions of the climate crisis, including issues of inequity, historical responsibility, intersectionality, and justice in climate transitions.

Objectives of the Working Group

  1. To serve as a hub for OxCAN members interested in addressing the climate crisis through a justice lens.

  2. To bring together diverse expertise across disciplines, demographics, and geographies.

  3. To foster collaborative and interdisciplinary research among OxCAN members on climate justice themes.

  4. To promote involvement of OxCAN members in civil society collaborations and activism on matters related to climate justice.

  5. To provide opportunities for strategic partnerships with units within the University of Oxford, external research institutions, organisations and civil society groups, and national and multilateral climate forums, on matters related to climate justice.
