Join the Team
As OxCAN continues to grow, we are expanding the volunteer base so we can best support our members. Our priority for 2025 is to improve networking, making it easier for people to find each other and building engagement with more discussion, sharing of ideas, and spinning out of working groups and projects.

Volunteering is a great opportunity to share your skills with the group, shape the future of OxCAN, and meet people with a shared interest, and a unique way to do your bit to solve climate change challenges. We would be delighted to hear from you, whether you'd like to take on a director role heading up a team, or commit a smaller amount of time within one of the teams.
Team structure
We currently have seven teams, each headed by a director, who builds and manages their team.

GLOBAL NETWORKS
This team is responsible for conversations and connections within OxCAN, helping members discover each other, building engagement on Slack and LinkedIn and, working across the other teams, helping members develop web material, events, projects and working groups.

COMMUNICATIONS
Sharing messages across the membership and with the public, this team looks after our online platforms, newsletter and social media, making sure everyone knows the latest and building OxCAN's profile.

AFRICA
This team manages OxCAN's work that regards the African continent, including working with key partners, strengthening regional networks, and hosting events for the continent.

KNOWLEDGE-SHARING & EVENTS
This team allows OxCAN members to share their work with the public and learn from others through a series of engaging meetings and events, online, in-person, and hybrid.

MEMBERSHIP
This team helps build the OxCAN community by reaching out to alumni and university groups for new members.

FINANCE WORKING GROUP
This team focuses on sustainability in private markets, sustainability for asset-owners, and nurturing grassroots initiatives, organising collaborations and events on these subject areas.

TRANSPORT WORKING GROUP
This team is in the exploratory phase of identifying projects and needs in the areas of air transport, road transport, rail transport, and sea transport.
Who we're looking for
We are very grateful to everyone who volunteers their time to help make OxCAN happen. The directors (leading the teams) commit around 4hrs/week and meet fortnightly. The managers and working group members are more flexible and your director will work with you to shape the role to the time and skills you can bring to the team. Here are the roles we're currently looking to fill.
